A little about Coldstream Mechanical's story:

David Hamm, the owner of Coldstream Mechanical Ltd. (which offers HVAC and Plumbing services in the North Okanagan), has been working in the HVAC trade in the Vernon area for 15 years. When he first started, he began working in the new construction sector, installing plumbing and ducted heating systems before eventually moving into the plumbing and HVAC services sector where he began specializing in boiler systems, ducted furnaces, Air Conditioners and heat pumps.

David started Coldstream Mechanical Ltd. in 2015 and has since won numerous awards (including the Top 30 Under 30) for outstanding service and business ethics in the Vernon community!

When asked about Coldstream Mechanical HVAC and what sets his company apart from others in the area, David said, “I have a great crew of employees, all dedicated to stellar service and excellent craftsmanship—they genuinely like what they do and they work hard to do it well—and I believe that really sets Coldstream Mechanical apart!

If there’s one thing we are wholly dedicated to, it is guaranteeing the satisfaction of our HVAC and plumbing customers in the North Okanagan. We pay attention to the tiniest details to ensure tailored service delivery. As a result, our customer support is available Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but we also offer emergency services. If you live in Vernon or the surrounding area and you have an HVAC or plumbing emergency, a Coldstream Mechanical staff member will be at your doorstep in no time to assess your situation and make recommendations

Hi! I'm David, the owner of Coldstream Mechanical and an HVAC Technician for the past 15 years!

Some of the things I really love about owning Coldstream Mechanical + living/working in North Okanagan are:

  • ​I think one of the biggest perks of owning and operating a local HVAC business in the Vernon area is building community through connection with the people I meet through my work. It makes it really easy to provide excellent customer service when I care so much about the community I live and work in!
  • I also really enjoy meeting lots of new people through my work, as well as always having opportunities to work on a wide variety of products and systems—it keeps the job interesting and challenging.
  • In enjoy spending my off-work time with my family, outdoors (snowboarding, skating, camping, etc.) and really love the Vernon and North Okanagan area. One of my favourite things about living and working in Vernon—aside from the extremely friendly community and connection I get here—is the change in seasons and all the fun activities that come with each one.

Hi! I'm Steph, the office manager here at CSM!

I have worked with Coldstream Mechanical since May 2022 and, most days, I live in the office, but occasionally I venture out if customers need assistance with processing of rebate forms.

​I love our customers and our team. Everyone is so friendly and happy to be at work and it makes for such a great atmosphere. It’s such a change for me to enjoy coming to work. We have the friendliest customers and, since I don’t get out much, I enjoy getting to speak to them on the phone and chatting about upcoming work projects. Customer service has always been a passion of mine.

​In my time away from work, I enjoy dirt biking and spending time with my dog, Moose, and we enjoy getting out into the mountains as much as possible. I learned to dirt bike in the Lavington & Coldstream areas about 6 years ago and have been doing it ever since. Plus, my flexibility working for Coldstream Mechanical allows me to get off early some days so I can get out there, so on days when David answers the phone instead of me, you probably know where I am! My dog Moose enjoys tagging along and running on the back roads and trying to catch little critters (she’s never fast enough but it makes me laugh).

​I’ve spent my entire life in Vernon & Coldstream and I love it here so much that I’ve just never had the desire to leave. Vernon has so much to offer in both the winter and summer seasons. From snowshoeing and ice fishing to pedal biking and dirt biking—the activities are endless. Pedalling into Kal Park from the King Eddy forest service road in Lavington is something I try to do at least once a year! There are world-class biking and hiking trails right here within a 15-25 min drive from Vernon.

Lastly, most of my family lives here in Vernon and it’s great to be close to them and get together for BBQs in the summer or going out to Okanagan Lake together where we have a cabin.

Hi! I'm Dan, an HVAC apprentice here at Coldstream Mechanical Ltd.

I’ve been apprenticing as an HVAC technician for 8 months with Coldstream Mechanical. I really enjoy learning the ins and outs of this industry, using the various tools required to do the job, and constantly developing my problem solving skills.

​In my free time, I enjoy playing sports (especially volleyball) and other physical activities, like rock climbing, hiking, and fishing. Family is also a big deal for me. I have a lot of siblings and I love hanging at home and hanging out with them.

Growing up local to the Vernon area, I can never get enough of the beauty of the parks and lakes around here, paired with our ideal climate! I love those long summer days as much as I love snowboarding and cross-country skiing.
